CSS and Qatar’s Center for International Policy Research Hold Virtual Meeting to Enhance Research Cooperation

The Centre for Strategic Studies (CSS) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan held a virtual meeting with the Center for International Policy Research (CIPR) of Qatar to discuss opportunities for strengthening institutional cooperation and expanding joint research initiatives.

During the meeting, Dr. Abdul Hai Qanit, Director General of CSS, emphasized the importance of building strong partnerships between strategic research institutions and highlighted the growing role of Track 1.5 diplomacy in fostering dialogue, supporting evidence-based policymaking, and complementing official diplomatic engagement.

The two sides exchanged views on a range of regional issues and discussed the importance of research collaboration in addressing common policy challenges and promoting regional understanding.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both institutions agreed to enhance cooperation through joint research projects, co-authored policy papers, expert exchanges, academic networking, and other collaborative initiatives aimed at strengthening institutional ties and advancing policy-oriented research.
